Fully In-Ground Weighbridges

In-Ground Weighbridges

Fully In-Ground Weighbridges occupy the Weighbridge deck at ground level with the foundations and load cells positioned in a pit. Due to the substantial civil excavation work & additional concrete, Fully In-ground Weigh-bridges are the most costly of the Weighbridge types.

These claim very little site area, other than the area of the deck and the level approaches. Trucks are typically able to turn off instantly upon leaving the Weighbridge deck. However, the foundations include elevated kerbing along both sides of the weighbridge deck to guarantee the vehicle to be weighed can only enter and leave along the Weighbridge axis and beyond the entry and departure pads.

Having an access hatch(s) for servicing and cleaning, the weighbridge pit is classed as a limited space and requires restricted space access permits, stand-by personnel and air quality checks before anyone is permitted below, which can substantially develop future servicing costs. They also involve extensive drainage, usually in the form of an mechanical submersible pump.

These Fully In-ground Weighbridges are ideal for sites that are restricted for usable space.
