Bundaberg Weighbridge Needed Piled Foundations.
During October 2011 Australasia Scales supplied, established and trade verified a 20m x 3m above ground weighbridge at a Bundaberg Waste Transfer Station. The completely hot dipped galvanised concrete in-fill weighbridge is sustained by 6 heavy duty CAS WBK canister type load cells, each with in-built lightning safeguard and IP68 rated dust and water proofing.
Soil test results suggested suitable stable founding conditions for the above ground weighbridge were unavailable in the fill soils and refuse materials – A professional Geo-technical & Structural Engineers recommended 6m long piles be driven to a minimum 5m depth to guarantee stability of the weighbridge and modular hut.
This weighbridge is to be mainly used as one directional weighbridge and to satisfy OH & S regulations a removable galvanised walkway was
also needed to ensure drivers safely exit and re-enter their vehicles while positioned on the weighbridge.
